Help for online shopping in CANADA - Best price for item "x" sites needed
-
I'm trying to find sites with "best price in canada" for Online shopping in canada. I have found many sites in the US that give you the best price for a particular item but can't find the equivalent in Canada. This would mostly be used to find bargains in home electronics and computer related items.

flooded-ga: Price comparison sites are actually pretty rare in the Canadian online marketplace, even though they are so popular just south of the border. Here is a recent Maclean's article about this: http://www.macleans.ca/topstories/consumer/article.jsp?content=20040820_120746_4788 In this article, they 'tested' out four sites, including: Yahoo! Canada Shopping http://ca.shopping.yahoo.com Sympatico MSN Shopping http://shopping.msn.ca Pricegrabber Canada http://ca.pricegrabber.com RedFlagDeals.com http://www.redflagdeals.com In addition to these, I would add PriceNetwork.ca http://www.pricenetwork.ca For what you are looking for, specifically sites that can help you find the best price for computer and consumer electronics products, I would recommend that you first check out PriceNetwork.ca. All of the 'deals' recorded in their product database have been validated by members of this community forum, and you can check up on the reputation of the vendors using the message forums that are part of this website. I would personally place Yahoo! Canada Shopping and Sympatico MSN Shopping as a tie for second; while the approaches are different between the two, you'll find that the results tend to be similar. Next, I would suggest you check out RedFlagDeals.com. I disagree with the way that the Maclean's article tried to use RedFlagDeals.com. As you'll see when you visit the site, it is not designed to be a price comparison service. Instead, it is a good tool to find out about the latest hot deal or discount to come along. As well, the relatively large user community is a fountain of knowledge should you choose to join the message forums. In last place for now, I would place Pricegrabber Canada. The reason for this is that the vast majority of the 'deals' that it returns for a search are actually US vendors, with the prices converted into Canadian dollars. I'm sure that over time, they will increase the Canadian content of their database; for now, I find it lacking. Hope this helps! aht-ga Google Answers Researcher
