I think this question could also be rewritten: How has the internet helped the medical field? One obvious answer is quicker & more accurate medical history information lookup. It has also helped with identification of disease by symptoms. Allocation of resources, making it so 3 ambulances don't go to the same emergency. Cell phones networked with towers/computers allows people to call in emergencies.
