What the difference in digital and laser printers?

What is the difference between laser printers and ink jet printers?

  • Answer:

Ink jet printers "blow" or shoot a tiny spot of ink as the printer head moves across the paper. Laser printers use a complex process of putting a charge on a heated metal drum that is affected by the laser to produce the characters and graphics that are to be printed. Toner is then attracted to the heated drum and the heated toner is deposited on the paper where it is bonded there using the heat of the drum. Typically, toner is made of powdered metal and powdered plastic. The metal has the attraction properties to bring it to the static charge on the drum, and the plastic has the melting properties to bond the toner to the paper.
