How Does Professional Blackjack Player Go Undetected.

• I have a question in regarding playing professional blackjack, I am good at the game. I know how to count cards somewhat OK, now the question I hand is how to go about this undetected. Card count Is not illegal by law. But casinos have the right to stop you from playing. Based on terms and conditions that the casino puts out in writing like (brochure). I was watching a TV show on the history Channel that the casino cameras can see how you play and count along with you and now they can detect if you are part of a team. So on trying to figure out how these professional players are able to go undetected. Is it how they beat or the type play. Or they lose after so many hands, but they can do it this way because if someone is doing well then making a stupid hand that's probably going to raise suspicion. I was invited to watch a professional blackjack tournament, watching these professional players play like winning thousands of dollars, three or four times in a row and not get asked to leave the casino, but I know someone that went to casino and win on three hands made $100 but was asked to leave because the cameras in the sky caught him card counting. So this is why I'm asking this question. Because I was watching this professional player play at the tournament. I was following these players play some of them were card counting.The person who won the tournament was a one of those card counter. So now I'm lost with this one. Now this is how I play blackjack when I visit casino. I try to win on very small amounts money, I would play the basic strategy first then when the bankroll is lower than when I started. I would start the process of card counting to bring me up to level of the bankroll or little bet above, so instead of making $100 on three hands I would make that in an hour.

  The solution to this problem is team play. One excellent book describing how it works is "Bringing Down the House : The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas for Millions" by Ben Mezrich (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0743225708/103-6493355-6870207?v=glance). To avoid detection, you use multiple players who communicate with one another using nonobvious signals. One counts the cards, betting low amounts each time. When the count becomes favorable, they signal another player, who joins the game and consistently bets large amounts. That way, the fact that one player is counting is not obvious because his or her betting behavior does not change as the count becomes more or less favorable. Meanwhile, the "wealthy" gambler who only bets large amounts plays a consistent role as well. Using this technique and disguises, MIT students made several million dollars before they were finally banned from casinos worldwide. The book is a very entertaining and informative read. As for the behavior you observed during the tournament, counting may well have been permitting. Typically the participants' fees fund the payout, so the casino hosting the event has no money at risk. Card counting by yourself is pretty easy to spot because you have to change your betting behavior significantly in order to profit from it.
