graduate summer programs in neuroscience/evolutionary biology/cognitive science
-
Hello, I am looking for summer research/seminar programs for graduate students in neuroscience, cognitive science, evolutionary biology, or artifical intelligence. I am most interested in: Programs at universities/institutions known for research Programs which award a stipend, or do not require tuition Programs shorter than 2 months, during the summer months Programs with a research component A good example of something I would be interested in is the Santa Fe Institute's "Complexity Summer School" Location is not an issue, either within the United States or outside of the country. Also, being female, I would be eligible for any type of "Women in Science" program. Thank you.

ANSWER Hello beckin-ga, This was a fun project to try to identify summer programs for you but I was very disappointed to find that most of the summer research seminars and programs are designated for undergraduates. I was able to find some programs in your specified fields at the graduate level, but not nearly as many as there are for undergraduates. I hope that one of them will fit your needs and interests. Wishing you well in your summer learning adventures. czh http://www.ninds.nih.gov/jobs_and_training/summer/#about National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke The Summer Program in the Neurological Sciences offers a unique opportunity for academically talented high-school, undergraduate, graduate, and medical students to receive first-rate training in neuroscience research. http://www.care.ucla.edu/html/ucla_sem.html UCLA Science, Engineering and Mathematics Summer Research Program http://www.ahrq.gov/fund/summerint.htm The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) employs high school, undergraduate, and graduate college students in support staff and entry level professional positions each summer.
