Computer Science Java Programming?

struggling with java programming

  • ------------------------- Followup To Question - HI, I am a 2nd year undergraduate and this September I will be doing my final year and that means a project as well. Now, my worries are that I am not very good at java which is the only programming language I have come across (joined university after an Access course)now I am very worried as to what sort of project I should take since it is compulsory for a computer science student to implement a programming language in the final year project. Do you have any project ideas which can use very simple java program and look good as well, if so please let me know I will be extremely greatful to you. I am also very confused and don't know what kind of project I should start or take. Your help will be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Ruksan Answer - Hiya Ruksan, That's a very interesting question you have there!  I need to ask you a few back though.  Are you marked only for the programming, or for the project as a whole?  Also, are you good and confident with Access? It's also worth realising that you learn a HELL of a lot when you spend solid time programming.  Each piece of coursework I do, no matter how small, always teaches me. As a broad idea, i'd say that making a game would be best.  that way you can have something that works fairly quickly, and spend the rest of the year improving it. It's always better to work on a grade, than to potentially get nothing. Daf FOLLOW UP REPLY TO YOUR QUESTION FROM RUKSAN: Firstly thanks for your reply. -No,we are marked for the whole project but being a computer science student it is compulsory to implement a bit of programming in our project. -Yes I am good in access I have done intermediate level in it, why? - I may sound very thick I am afraid but what do you mean by 'a game'? hope to hear from you Thank you again.

  • Answer:

Heya man, Well if you are good at access, and need to encorporate some amount of Java, then there is an area you could work in.
