• Hello there! I would like to download a streaming real media file to my hard disk. I'm using a Windows 2000 machine. How to go about it?   dka, I just downloaded the file to my hard drive, closed the source window, and am now watching it. It's narrated by a girl and has many images of water in the beginning. If you don't already have the Real Player, you will need it. Use the link that goodinformation-ga provided to download and install the Real Media Player - BASIC edition. Go to: http://www.real.com/player/realplayer_intl.html?lang=en&loc=au&src=intl_au-home,011404intl_enau_choice 1. Download the free "basic player" to your desktop. Click the link that is orange on the bottom right to initiate the download. 2. Install the basic player by clicking on the file named " RealPlayer10-5GOLD.exe " Now, you have the right program to watch it on your computer. Note, after the Real Player is installed, you can LEFT CLICK on the link and watch it as soon as it is finished downloading. It might even start to play while it's downloading, but could stop intermittently if it's not finished transferring (buffering) to your computer. On dial-up, that might be up to a half hour. I have cable so it was done in about 5 seconds.
