Where to buy GPS tracking system?

GPS car tracking system

  • I'm buying a new car later this year and I'm conducting a research on car tracking systems in Europe. What I mostly found are "one click instant companies", a website that looks like books you get to purchase if you follow a link in spam e-mail. I'm searching for a trustworthy company that provides GPS/GSM/GPRS car tracking in Europe. The only thing that I might be interested in is HunterPro. Thanks in advance.

Hello zec, I found a few possible solutions for you. A German company, Advanced Wireless Planet: http://www.gsm-modem.de/vehicle-tracking.html which features: GPS and GSM technology "The device incorporates a covertly installed module (which works and communicates independantly) but has the ability to run in conjunction with your local GSM network (DTMF, voice message, SMS, GPRS or GSM modem call). "The tracking centre operator monitors your vehicle 24 hours per day for unauthorised intrusion, theft, accident, breakdown, panic/assistance, vehicle movement or breach of a predefined 'Geo-fence' boundary. The operator can then perform numerous tasks including; engine immobilisation, unlock doors, advise the police or dispatch security response." _______________________ Beacon Wireless Solutions http://www.viewfleet.net/ Fleetmaster "Beacon Wireless Solutions manufacture and develop the FleetMaster AVL vehicle remote monitoring systems. Typical applications include fleet management, vehicle management, vehicle tracking, container tracking, palette tracking. Can be used in cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, scooters, containers, palettes, construction equipment... The FleetMaster sends data via GPRS to a central database where all data can be viewed over the Internet via your own private secure account via a standard web browser. Upon alarm condition or predefined event, the system can send an alarm notification by email, fax, voice call, text message." "Beacon Services uses GSM, SMS, GPRS, UDP, TCP/IP technology for communicating to devices in the field and GPS, Cell ID, GSM triangulation for locating devices." The TrimTrac 1.5 locator takes advantage of both technologies by automatically selecting GPRS wherever such service is available, while relying upon SMS text messages as backup when outside GPRS coverage. This helps minimize recurring communication costs while allowing the greatest coverage possible." http://web.archive.org/web/20050310084046/http://www.trimble.com/news/010604a.htm (original press release upon its introduction) "'The TrimTrac locator represents a tight integration of GPS and GSM technology to drive down size, power consumption and cost while providing application appropriate functionality,' said, William Dussell, director of integrated products of Trimble's Component Technologies Division. "We chose GSM since it has the most extensive global coverage of any wireless air interface and we believe the TrimTrac locator is an ideal solution for the vehicle security and monitoring markets.'" Broad Coverage with GPS and GSM Technology "The TrimTrac locator uses GPS and GSM, the leading wireless communications technology with the largest geographical coverage and greatest number of subscribers. The locator device offers not only world-class, automotive-grade GPS performance, but features an enhanced GPS sensitivity mode that allows it to operate in some indoor environments and other places where traditional GPS receivers may not work. TrimTrac supports three major GSM frequency bands: 900, 1800 MHz (DCS) worldwide and 1900 MHz (PCS) in the U.S. where GSM coverage is comparable to other leading digital wireless standards. To optimize the TrimTrac locator's battery life and provide secure low-cost data transmission, periodic position and status reports are sent as SMS (short messaging service) text messages over the GSM network. "The TrimTrac locator incorporates GSM Protocol Stack software from TTPCom Ltd. Headquartered in Cambridge, England, TTPCom is one of the world's leading independent suppliers of digital wireless technology. The company's Protocol Stack software has approvals with over 70 major network operators across Europe, Asia, America and Australia." --awarded the 2004 Frost & Sullivan Best Bang for the Buck Award.
