I took the SAT test my junior year and i got a 700 total on it. I never got a chance to take it my senior year and i need a higher score in order to get accepted into any university.I was wondering if you can take the SAT test after you have graduated from high school in order to get a better score for college?

Answer:
Howdy lilusher44-ga, According to this Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) web page, you sure can take the SATs after you graduate from high school. http://www.chci.org/chciyouth/interact/ask_april04.htm "Yes, you can take the ACT or the SAT after you have graduated high school. Enrollment in high school is not a requirement for either exam. Please visit www.collegeboard.com for more information on the SAT, ACT, and other college entrance requirements. If you have been out of high school for many years, some colleges may not require you to take the SAT, ACT, or any other college entrance exam. Sometimes, colleges have different entrance requirements for non-traditional students (students who did not enroll in college directly after high school)." So, not only can you take the SAT at some time after you graduate from high school, but you will also want to contact the college you are thinking of attending to see about their SAT requirements. The "CollegeBoard" web site they mention is that of the organization that administers the SATs. http://www.collegeboard.com/about/index.html "The College Board is a not-for-profit membership association whose mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity. ... Among its best-known programs are the SAT ..." In fact, you can register online for the SATs if you want. http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/about.html "Register online and: - Choose your test date and test center. - Get immediate registration confirmation. - Get recruited by colleges and universities. Requires Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express." There is lots of information on the SATs on the above web page, so I would suggest you go through it thoroughly. The 2004-2005 Calendar & Fees can be found here. http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/calenfees.html You can find out more about fees here. http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/calenfees/fees.html You can possibly get the SAT fees waived and might even be able to get your college admission fees waived as well. http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/calenfees/feewaivers.html Keep in mind the SATs have changed just this year, so they are different than when you took them. http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/about/SATI.html "Each section of the SAT is scored on a scale of 200-800, and the writing section will contain two subscores. The SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors. It is administered seven times a year in the U.S ..." There is a SAT Preparation Center on their web site as well. http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/prep_one/prep_one.html Specific questions about the SATs can be answered by calling (609) 771-7600 or using the email form at this web page. http://www.collegeboard.com/inquiry/sathome.html If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask. Search strategy: Google search on: SAT after "high school" "can I take" ://www.google.com/search?q=SAT+after+%22high+school%22+%22can+I+take%22 Also did some research on the CollegeBoard.com web site. http://www.collegeboard.com/ Looking Forward, denco-ga - Google Answers Researcher
