This review is from: Orange Electronic P409S Retrofit Tire Pressure Monitoring System (Automotive) At $104 I believe this is a must-have item. I experienced a right rear flat tire last week while my wife was driving. We were doing 60 mph on the freeway. My wife thought the road was bumpy and was clueless to the fact we had a completely flat tire. Rear tire flats and blowouts are very dangerous at freeway speed. I asked her to gently slow down and pull over. Sure enough the tire was just beginning to shred. I wonder how long the pressure was low on that tire. I wonder how long it was heating up before it failed completely. I doubt we would have been caught by surprise with a TPMS unit installed. If the unit works for 5-7 years I calculate it will easily pay for itself if it saves just one tire, not to mention saving us from an unwanted accident. Fuel savings should be better considering the constant reminder if you're running on low pressure tires. Amortize the potential savings and I believe this is a no-brainer. I purchased a new set of tires today and the dealer installed this unit, purchased from Amazon, for free with the new tires. The tire dealer's aftermarket TPMS system was $350. Their installer said this one is just as good with both psi and temp readouts for all 4 tires simultaneously. I'm happy to say the unit and all 4 sensors work perfectly right out of the box. I'll be back to post again if there are any problems in the future but I'm very happy for now. Amazon came through for me on 1-day shipping - I needed the system before tires were installed and I received it next-day.
