What are some typical questions asked at an interview?

What are some good answers for typical questions asked on a job interview (like what are your weaknesses, strengths, etc.)?

  • Answer:

my favourite answer for what are weaknesses....i push myself too hard and expect a lot out of myself or i am my worst critic...always followup any comment with what youve done to fix it..ie showing that its not really a problem at all. What I have done to combat this is to pace myself set short term and long term goals blah blah blah...this is the best answer that I have found to this question. what are my strengths..the main idea is to give qualities that show that your a good job match if its customer service than your detail oriented, patient, organized..you get the picture. When I trained others for inteviewing I always reccomended what our company called 'star stories'....situation..task.. action... result. You tie this into every answer you give. After you answer a question .(example how do you handle pressure) always lead into your STAR story..what i mean by that is ....(situation) tell what happened..At my last job my boss came to me..enter story here....(Task) So I had to figure out how to get the job done. (Action) the first thing i did was...etc etc etc. (Resolution) I finished the project on time we saved the client the boss was happy...you see were im going with this right? Even though it sounds silly it reinforces to who ever is interviewing you in a tangible story that you have solid experience in what ever they have asked about. Make sure before you go into a inteview that you have a bunch of stories ready to give that can fit any given question asked..

Well, I know myself pretty well, so I would say that my greatest strength has to be my trusting, generous love that I offer freely to strangers as well as my family and friends. Ironically though, it is my greatest strength that has on numerous occasion proven to be my greatest weakness. Confused? Well, it so happens that sometimes my trust, generosity and love are abused by others. And, the funny thing about that is that no matter how many times it happens, it never stops me from staying true to myself...and I really have no regrets. I still think people are inheritantly good, but sometimes get confused in this crazy world and make mistakes. Easy enough to forgive that! Maybe the next time I meet these people, they will be the ones who show their trust, love and generousity to me when I need it most!

My greatest strengths are my ability to articulate, my ability to think fast, and a somewhat uncanny ability to understand what people are thinking when they ask certain questions. You know those questions that an interviewer asks that make you say "why the hell would he ask me that?"? Well I can usually see the meaning behind the question, and figure out a good way to answer it. Not sure what my weakness would be... Honestly, I'm a strong interviewer.

My greatest strength is my ability to take and evaluate my weaknesses and turn it into a strength.
