How do I get a job as a Broker?

I have a full time job and have no plans to quit. Is it feasible to get a real estate license and be hired by a broker on a part time basis?

  • Answer:

It is, but in my experience most part-time agents aren't able to "work the field" like the full-time agents. Their clients, both buyers and sellers, suffer in the long run. To really be good at real estate you need to be able to give a lot of attention to it.

Allow me to present an opposing viewpoint. Yes, it is feasible, but you have to be willing to take twice as long to establish yourself ... unless you are a teacher. Teachers have it easiest of all part-time agents. Teachers have an endless supply of warm leads which renews itself each and every year. Moreover, their "free-time" coincides with their student's parents. I know several teachers that are VERY successful real estate agents -- and a couple even have time left over to teach continuing education courses. ;-)

It's possible, but you shouldn't do it because only full time agents are a success. (Go full time agents!!!) You are wasting your time unless you want to give up everything and go for gold!!!
