How are coupons used?

In my attempts to be a thrifty shopper, I used coupons and went to grocery stores that doubled them. Any more, I see coupons that read "Not Subject to Doubling" or coupons for $1.00 (many stores will not double over that amt) Why?

  • Answer:

why? to make more money of course. A grocery store can offer "double coupons*" whenever it wants, but pay attention to that little asterisk. all that is required for the statememt to be true is more than 1 coupon that can be doubled. Thus, they leave themselves all sorts of loopholes to not actually double your coupon but still use the coupon doubling slogan as an advertisement campaign.
