How can I fix my PSP battery?

I was playing a game on my PSP and it froze up. I took the battery off and restarted it. Now I cant play UMDs. How can I fix this problem?

  • Answer:

Hi, If it was working just fine and all of a sudden stopped reading the games there's probably a piece of grit jamming up the laser gear or the UMD spindle that turns the disc. This happens all the time and it only takes something half the size of a grain of salt to do it. The most important thing is to stop trying to load games as soon as you know something's wrong as it can burn out the laser or the respective motors pretty quickly. If you get the grit out before that happens it will probably work just fine again and you won't have to buy new parts. http://www.xboxrepairservice.com has a minumum of $45 for jobs like these as compared to $69 or $89 for a new laser or UMD drive. You should buy a new one or call customar support. OR dont play the games.

Whenever something like that happens, go to the store you bought it from or go to an electronic store. It's most likely broken. ~~~~~~~~ When mine broke, I took mine to this electronic store (trust me there is one near you) and got it fixed. That's also why you shouldn't buy stuff from Ebay. No Warrantee.
