What do I have to do to get into medical school in England?

If someone went into a coma at age 12 in England and woke up when they were age 16/17/18....would they be alowed to go back to high school to get their education? what would happen to them?

  • Answer:

The point is that in England we do not have a High School certificate. The Education system works differently here. The young person would of course be educated but I doubt in a school as this would entail her/him being in classes with children many years younger which would not be of help to a person in this situation. It would do nothing for the persons self esteem confidence or life in general to be classified as backward and educated with much younger children

You've obviously never known someone who's been in a coma before. They can't just get up and go back to school or do crap like that. There is usually brain damage and they often have to relearn how to do everything such as feeding themselves, walking, etc.

It would depend on each individual case, some people are severely neurologically damaged and would need to relearn everything, and some would recover much more quickly. Normally they would have home schooling if and when they were ready or go to a special school or college for young people with neurological conditions. I would think it was unlikely that someone in a coma for 4/5/6 years would be ready to do that though.
