Do you think dreams can show you the future?

My dreams are wacked. but the ones that I remember vividly, end up coming true, except I am not the main character like in my dream. Example- I dreamed that I shot myself in the mouth and died, for no reason at all, then a week later, (for real) my best friend shot herself in the mouth and died. then 3 weeks later, my uncle shot himself in the mouth and died. Another dream, I drownd in the lake and died. 4 days later, (for real) another friend drownd in a lake and died. I guess I have a lot of coincidences.

My psychology text book has a great answer for this. Basically it argues this: If a person have a dream about his sister dying in a car crash, and one week later his father was injured in a motorcycle accident, did the dream come true? Was it 'close enough'? Let's say that I host a lottery where you can pick a number between 1 and 1000. Let's further say that you pick 651. I randomly draw the number 646. Am I obliged to give you money? After, it was close, only 5 numbers away. Of course not. We dream approx. (not shortened because of lazyness, I just don't know how to spell it=) every 90 minutes during one night of sleep for 15 minutes. Let say you sleep for 8 hourse, that's 75 minutes of dreaming. That's 525 minutes of dreaming in one week. I'm not being precise here, I'm just making a point. Dreaming about a family member is common, dreaming about accidents is also fairly common. Combine the two with 525 minutes a week, and it's not a stretch to say that it will happen at least once per life time. Let's add 6 billion people into the equation. Is it really that hard to believe that somebody might dream about someone dying that acctually dies a few days later. I don't think so. Add the 'close enough' piece, and you have dreams that show the future.

I read an aricle that said that when you dream something, your unconcious mind is pulling up different situations from your life and how you dealt with them. Dreaming is a way for your mind to help you problem solve in real life.

yes because some have happened to me. i predicted that there was going to be a fight at school and the next day some girl hit this other girl in the forhead with the heel of her high heels it was pretty intense and bloody but cool seeing it in real life. gross i know.

Hmmmm... Dreams Might be a prediction of the future made by your sub-concious.

Okay everyone had these long proven answers but I'm just going to say what I THINK;; because that's what the person's question wanted to know. I think dreams CAN show the future. But then I think they can't. Honestly, I'm not sure. Okay I shouldn't've answered this question. Hahaha.

I personally do. I would keep a journal by my bed. As soon as I awakened, I would write down every detail I could remember. The more I did this, the meanings became clearer. I had a dream December 1998, that my father died. I could see him in the casket, my mother crying, and even the casket being lowered into the ground. I told my father about this dream. My father died October 12, 1999. He had an unpredictable massive heart attack. He opted for bypass surgery since he had about 20 percent of his heart functioning. He never woke up. The neurologists confirmed that he had a major stroke during surgery. The cardiologists stated that there was only a 2 percent chance of this occurring.

yes , i saw in my dream that my father will come in school and i tried mot to meet him and my dream show me where to hide ...... the other day the dream came alive but i knew where to hide cause of it and i done it ...... what's really is deja vu ? it's a problem or a gift ...... maybe the second ..........

i haev some premonitory dreams, but they're rare, they tell me the future, but not in details...
