What is the best study habit?

What is the best study habit/plan? craming is hard but so is staying on track. How do you handle it

  • Answer:

A prof once told us to study in 30 minutes intervals. 30 on, 15 off. It works great if you can get back into it. Everyone has their trick. I found that waking up and studying for an hour each morning was good. No TV no radio.... just breakfast and books. I retained more during that one hour than I could in several hours later in the day. Than there is hitting your stride... Find out how long it takes you to actually start learning and then know how long you can keep the pace. If you plan ahead, and study a little each day you won't have to cram for exams. By the end of my college days, I didn't study for any final.

Listen to so relaxing and queit music. Lay down and read over it, test yourself, and circle the ones you seem to forget and ask yourself those ones more. Then take some breaks. Eat snacks, take a drink. Then study again. Try not to shove it all in. Fit it in slowly piece by piece.

Study everyday for 2 hrs at least. Have a plan/schedule, don't just pick out a random book from the bag and start reading it. Cramming is bad, because you wouldn't remember who you've "crammed" till the end of the year. A successful student is the one who has conquered his desires; stay focused, many people don't.

It's different for different types of learner and also what subject you're doing. When I was doing my degree, studying maths, I found the best way was to do mock exam questions for three hours a day for 3 weeks before the exams. Oractice was the key to passing maths. This technique probably wouldn't work in, say, a biology or english degree.

i am a crammer by nature but as i continue in my degree quest i find that studing before hand is a smarter way to do things. i try and keep up with the class(reading on the weekends)and i have developed a love for highlighters. the maga colour packs with 7 dif colours. i go thorough my books and highlight things acording to a personal system. then when i come back to cram i can quickly find the info easly.
