Which would be a better video camera to use?

When playing video on a high defintion tv, is quality better if you use a high definition camera? If you don't, is quality of playback compromised? We have both HD tv and non HD tvs-which kind of camera will optimize quality on both types of tvs?

  • Answer:

You can play standard def video on an HD TV, but you can't play HD video on a standard (non-HD) TV. If you have an HD camera and a non-HD camera, you will see more detail if you use the HD camera and play it back on the HD TV. But, again, you won't be able to view the HD video on your non-HD TVs. If you want to record something that can be viewed on both types of TVs, your only choice is to use a non-HD camera.
