Hi all, very frustrated by this. I have downloaded some FREE video podcasts from iTunes (ie. they are NOT copyprotected) and the are in a .m4v format. I need to get them to .avi or .mpg format for free. Tried Bink/Virtual Dub/Dr.Divx and TMPGE. HELP!

I had a similar problem recently, with asf rather than m4v format. THe only way I managed it in the end was to write them to CD using Nero (as a video CD), then take the files off the CD (they will be mpg, though not labelled as such, so you have to manually change the file suffixes), and after that you can edit them at will. These "special" formats are a pain. Let me know how you get on, and good luck.
