Why can't my PSP start up?

I cant start my psp beacouse my power on/off slider is broken and it slides just up and down? what to do?

  • Answer:

If you mean that switch is broken, then your PSP is fine, except the switch is broken. Meanwhile, with tweezers, just press firmly hard up and down to turn it on and off. Take it to a repair shop, so they will have it examined and hopefully fixed.

Same thing happened to my PSP. If you're still under warranty, let Sony repair it. Otherwise, If you're feeling adventurous, you can just buy the parts off of ebay and repair it yourself. If you buy just the switch then you'll need to do some soldering. I bought the entire power switch circuit board with the switch attached. Re-attaching the cables can be a lil tricky (especially the one underneath the board). It's not an easy job, but it'll save you a fair bit of money. The power switch board was only $5.
