Has anyone ever gone to a career counselor? If so, were they helpful or a waste of money?

Answer:
If you're in school, it costs you only time to see a counselor and they may be able to provide you with valuable resources. There are other companies out there, but it's been my experience that most of them are scams. You can find any number of the same kind of career questionnaires they'll offer online for free. Ditto with setting up a professional resume (monster.com is a good site). Companies who will set up and network your resume with others typically end up taking a good deal of your money in return for doing what you can do on your own.
