Why do my PC games shut down?

Can anyone suggest a good Fantasy/Role playing game for the PC that doen't require online play? When I play games like that, I'd just as soon, shut the outside world off for a bit!

  • Answer:

The original "Diablo" has low system requirements, and will keep you busy for a while ! A great adventure game ! It just takes a bit of getting used to watching yourself moving behind walls, or in rooms. Great game though. I've never played "Diablo II" though.

Oblivion. While I haven't played it myself, I hear it keeps you busy for literally hundreds of hours... loads of quests and options and gameplay styles.

Black Knight

I also recommend Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. If your system isn't up to spec, ES III: Morrowind is also pretty good. Neverwinter Nights is fun, but I didn't like NWN 2 very much.

I'm going to answer with the fallout series... Turn based roleplay in combat, "real time" outside of combat. good main story with a few twists... many side quests that change the outcome of the main story... carry over to the next stories in the series... And a new version.. (fallout 3) coming out soon.

There a flood of games coming to my mind. Not sure exactly what your looking for but I have just started playing Planescape: Torment for the first time. Its an amazing store and game and LOT of fun to play if you like heavy dialog in your RPG/Fantasy. Also the classic Knights of the Old Republic which I would be pretty surprised if you have not played. If you get Torment though, make sure to look around for a texture mod that makes the game so much more enjoyable on todays systems. (It will run 640x480 by default so you pay a price if you dont take the time to look.)
