Hello. I am assuming you are asking how you can use two 12v car batteries, and using an inverter be able to provide 5000 watts of 110v AC power. Converting DC to AC is a accomplished using a device called an Inverter. These can range in size and price from a few hundred watts for $40 to power things like small radios / tool chargers, etc. to larger ones to power TVs, ACs, etc. In fact, even larger ones are out there in things link Wind Mills, but these are really off the scale. 5000 watts is a lot of power to expect out of common inverters. Companies like xantrex.com make them, but to get to 5000w would take some work, and a lot of money. Maybe $5,000 or more? just for the inverters. But it can be done. Would most likely be looking at ones that are designed to connect two together to get the 5000 watts. Now, as to the car battery. Here is a real issue. At 110v, 5000W is around 45 Amps. To get that, an inverter would have to draw around 450 amps from a 12 v battery. A typical car battery carry's about 80Ah, so in the best of all worlds two would have 160Ah. At 450Amp draw, we got about 20 minutes of capacity before totaly exhausting the batteries. But it is not that easy. When a battery has to supply so much current at one time, it will not supply its full capacity. In this case, maybe half (if even that). So now our time is down to maybe 10 minutes. Even less of we do not want to take them down 100%. And another thing, common car batteries (wet cells) will NOT deliver that much energy that quickly for a long without overheating and being distroyed. I am not even sure if you could get that much amps out of two car batteries for more then 1 minute before the inverter shut down because of low voltage. There are other battery technologies (like AGM batteries) that handle high current draw much better, but you are still asking a lot form two 'car' type batteries. So, the inverters can be had for say $5,000. To make this work and not kill the batteries, you will need a much large bank. If you put in electric fork lift batteries (e.g. type L16), you could get it to work. A bank of 16 would give you around 3,000Ah at 12v. They are around $150 each and weigh about 90 lbs each, so cost here is $2400. This would give you a run time of around 5 hrs or so without risking heavy damage to the batteries. Plus heavy wires, fuses, boxes, etc... It adds up fast. And in the end, you only have perhaps a few hours run time available. Can be done (not with two batteries though), but will cost a whole lot. Much much more then a good 5000 W generator (not one of those noisy ones at Home Depot, but a good quite generator).
