Is there a special service for adoption for the military?

The ASPCA, is currently running a public service announcement soliciting donations to "adopt" an injured animal. This is a virtual adoption, not real. Another agency offers a child for "adoption" at similar costs. Which agency would you support? Why?

  • Answer:

If I were so inclined I would have to choose the human child as I believe that humans have to come first. Maybe that is just my anthropocentric nature. Do not misunderstand, I do love and respect animals. I work with them on a daily basis, and they are amazing to behold. Still, I believe that it is wrong to allocate precious resources to an animal over a human. That is just how I see it anyway.

Other answers

I would pick the animals. Not that I think that they are more important than kid, but the child will receive medical care regardless. The animal has to have the money or be put down. There are hospitals and agencies that give free medical care to children, so the kid will be fine, the animal will not.
