How do you add songs from iTunes to your iPod?

Just bought an iPod from guy at work, his songs are still on it. I have a windows xp and the latest version of itunes with songs from limewire. How do I get the iPod to show up in itunes so I can restore it and add my songs?

  • Answer:

I reckon that there'd be a few reasons why. 1/. Your firmware needs reloading on the ipod. 2/. The ipod needs re-setting. 3/. Your xp software or itunes software is screwy and needs updating or reloading. 4/. You need to buy a mac with the latest software on it. Seriously though- The 30 pin connector (ipod classic) or the ipod to usb cable could be stuffed too? I've just been through this one. It's areplacement under warranty but in your case it could mean expensive repair bill and long wait or even worse a new ipod. Try plugging in the ipod and then unplugging it without ejecting it. If the computer doesn't object with a warning message (unless pcs are different to Macs in this regard), then you have a pin connector or usb cable problem. Try replacing the usb cable first of course. Good luck.
