What is your personal bidding technique on eBay? Wait until the last second? All-out bidding wars? What do you think is the best strategy to win items?

Answer:
I only make one bid and that's at the very last minute. Why should i place an early bid and let the whole earth know that there is interest in the item. I once, in my early ebay career, got into a bidding war, starting out low and then when I got outbid, bid a little more, and then more, and more. And paid way too much. If I place a bid early on, then someone will try to feel out what I'm willing to pay. So no one knows what I'm interested in. I usually get my items and I never pay more than what it's worth to me anymore. If I get out sniped by someone who bids higher, it's fine by me becasue that's as high I I was willing to go and they have my blessing. But they WILL have to outbid me. I ain't giving it away. Oh, I also do my research long before I bid, both on the item and what they usually go for, maybe the bidders history, too and of course the sellers.

I mainly use buy it now.

If it's something I really want and they have a 'Buy it now' for a good price, I will use the 'Buy it now'. Otherwise, I watch auctions and wait until the last second to enter a bid, if the bidding has not gone to high.

If it's something I REALLY want, I use an auction sniper to keep placing my bids in the last seconds. If it's no big deal, I enter my max bid when I first find the auction, and let it go if I get outbid.

I bid and sometimes do a max bid so I don't have to keep bidding. I love the textes they will send you to let you know if you have been out bidded or when it will end. Now I can just watch it and when it's really close to ending I might bid than. Most time it just easier to do buynow, so I don't have to bid at all.

Snipe the auction with the most you'd want to pay. Winning isn't getting the item, winning is getting the item at a lower price than you'd normally pay.

bid what I want to pay. place the bid. wait...

If they dont have a but it now button, I figure out what the most I'd pay for something is. Wait until the auction is just about over. And enter that amount. If I win I win, If I dont, there is always another one.
