Why does my computer monitor turn on and off?

Why won't my computer monitor turn on? We took our monitor and our computer in for repairs and it worked fine, but when we took it home and set it up, the computer would turn on, but not the monitor. What's going on and how do I fix it?

  Work from simple on out. First make sure the monitor's power button is on. (Not to be wise, but I've seen it.) Thrn plug the monitor into a different outlet, eliminate a faulty outlet. Then use the power wire from the computer on the monitor, eliminate the power wire. From there you may want to check the video connection, as some monitors go into sleep mode without any connection, but you should still see a light on the power display. GENERALLY, there will be a yellow light for power with no signal, and a green light for both power AND signal.
