What would be the best radar for a Honda?

I was stopped on my Honda Metropolitan because the officer said I was going over 30mph. He did not use radar or laser. He could not have paced me for more than 3 blocks. He did not specify my speed, only that I was going over 30mph. How can I fight this?

  • Answer:

They can calculate how many feet per second you were traveling if they know the length of a street for example. If you traveled 1000 feet in 20 seconds you were going around 34 MPH, for example. This how the airplanes and helicopters used to catch speeders, by counting how many white lines you passed on the freeway in how many seconds. If they didn't get you on radar you have a chance to beat it.

Most jurisdictions do not require a specific speed to be stated on the traffic citation. this is for just reason. The officer may have observed other minor violations that lead to you receiving this citation. You will learn the reasonings, when you go to court.
