What are some good careers to go to college for?

I'm torn between the decision of heading to college, or not. I would like to make a lot of money, but I could just be a real estate agent. If I DO go to college, what are some careers that make good money? ($ for college isn't an issue here)

  • Answer:

GO TO COLLEGE! Not only is it a unique experience that you may only have ONE shot at, but almost everything requires a college degree nowadays. Real Estate Agent? Are you really going to want to do THAT for the rest of your life? You WILL regret it in the long run if you don't go.

Go to college. Trust me. As someone who's lived in both worlds, if you have the chance to go to college then you need fight tooth and claw to get there. I really can't stress this enough.

Go to college. What if you hate the real estate business?

Go to college. X-Ray Tech's make pretty good money...if you choose to go that route, I would suggest getting qualified to do CT Scans and MRI's as well. That will really increase your salary. Anastesologists also make big bucks. My sister does the 1st, and her husband does the 2nd. Let me tell you that they are certainly in no need for money. I am not sure of exactly what their salaries are but I know it's alot!

You should go to college. The real estate industry can be very competitive. If you obtain a 4 year degree and you're still interested in real estate, you would be able to get a brokers license rather than a salesperson's license. Or you may decide to do something else.

Go to college, that peice of paper with your name on it increases your money-making ability in the business world a great deal. Anything with Medical. People are ALWAYS going to get sick, its human nature, so that field isn't going to fade out anytime soon. There is nursing, medical assisting for hands on and if you're not keen on blood (i'm not!) go for Medical Office. You can be the one dealing with the insurance agencies, billing & coding, transcription (you can usually work at home for this field) and basic office administration. You can work in hospitals, clinics, doctors offices, etc. Very lucritive option!

It's such a tough decision and people change their minds all the time because they're not happy or whatnot. One thing that I did (finally!) that helped me decide (I had gone back and forth back and forth) was checking out a book that my friend loaned me- it had to do with finding your likes/dislikes and also reading interviews of people in tons of different careers... i finally decided on being a teacher! The book is called "Conversations: Find Your Niche" and you can find it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Conversations-Find-Niche-Van-Twelves/dp/1933425598/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1250177383&sr=8-1 It's reasonable too- you might want to try it... it's been the only way that I can actually say I've made a good and informed decision! good luck
