How do they get the air in bubble wrap?

How do they get the air inside the bubble wrap?

  • Answer:

you get two plastic films. one runs over a vacuum cylinder with holes drilled in it. the vacuum forms the bubble in the cyclinder. the second film is then laminated to the first film sealing the air inside the bubble. thats about it.

I imagine a flat sheet of plastic gets laid on top of the bubbly sheet part, and then it's all sealed when air is inside the bubbles. <hangs head> Apparently, you should read idne's answer if you want the real answer. However, my theory is much simpler, LOL, even if it's not quite correct.

They might trap the air inside it by putting 2 sheets of plastic together, and pressing it into the bubble shape.
