What Do I Need To Burn My Movies In Hi Def?

I download movies from bittorrent, and I've tried so many different softwares to burn them onto DVD (to watch on my TV) and nothing works. PLEASE can someone tell me how or what I need to burn my movies???

  • Answer:

Firstly, this question BLATENTLY says you're breaking the law, since you are saying you've illegally downloaded movies without paying for them and now want to create DVDs from the downloads which is another offense. Why are you asking someone to help you break the law? Secondly, if you want to compile a DVD, never just dump video files onto it. If you do, you create a data DVD which a PC can use but a DVD player cannot. If you want to put YOUR OWN VIDEO CONTENT on a dvd, do so by creating a video DVD (which will take substantially longer as the video must be recompiled into the correct format for DVD recorders to be able to understand it) - any conventional authoring software can do this.

An option now available is to use an HDMI media player. Most will support most of the formats that your computer recognizes. Drag and drop the (unconverted) movie in your PC to a USB memory stick, plug the stick into the media player on your TV and it plays. AVI movies play, as do MP4s, DivX, etc. They cost about $50 U.S. Picture quality is superb.
