Polar bears in Alaska will no longer be able to survive, but those living in Canada and other areas in the world will likely survive. But if we lose the sea ice the oceans will warm because radiation won't be reflecting off of the sea ice and will be absorbed instead by the oceans making the ocean warm, changing the weather and it will be catastrophic to the whole planet.

The ice caps won't melt. Polar Bear populations are growing. They're OK.

Unfortunately they, like many billions of humans, will die.

its called evolution by evolutionists. let the strongest survive. fortunately, polar bears can swim and can walk too. as the ice melts they will walk to the next ice shelf or swim to land...they only have decades to do it in...even a turtle can crawl 20 feet in a year

they'll be toast

They would have to go back to being Grizzly Bears, which is where they started out. But unfortunately the woods already have as many Grizzlies as they can take, so it is likely that the Polars will die down to a very small number - or go extinct. Habitat loss is probably the commonest way of things going extinct.

Polar bears are already having a tough time. In 2004 I was out on the Arctic Ocean. To reach the ice, we had to go very much farther north than anticipated at that time of year. Even then it wasn't thick enough to support people standing on it, much less a large bear. While polar bears are considered marine mammals, we spotted one swimming hundreds of miles from the ice (or land). I couldn't help wondering if he or she was okay. Animals living in extreme conditions evolve in ways that depend on the conditions remaining constant. When radical changes occur, the denizens of those environments may not be able to survive.

polar bears are beautiful animals and diserve to be cared for more and respected. polar bears make a big difference in the world and if they are threatened then we should something about it not just sit and wait for them to become extinct. they are clever animals and they wills soon realize that they are hungry and move to a difference place and be able to survive there!
