I have an rca drc 200n dvd player---when turned on, a large box that says "pscan" appears in the center of the screen and the scene image appears identically side by side on the screen (under the pscan box)---how do i fix this?

Answer:
Turn the player on with no disc in it. On the remote press setup and under general the second option is video out. You may not be able to see it if it is blocked by the yellow box (mine was), but you can see the yellow PS above and the yellow ENG to the right of the PSCAN box. The choices under video out are S-Video, YUV Interface, and YUV Progress. Set this to YUV Interface, and that fixed the problem for me.

I believe there is a switch on the back of the player. It is probably set to Progressive scan. Switch it off.
