Sure, I have a great job. I earn $200,000 per year, work with really nice people, and can work from home whenever I want. I've never regretted it. When you're getting your bachelors degree, you'll need to take mostly technical classes, so you won't be able to take the fun & goof-off classes like film appreciation or dance or whatever. But once I graduated with my BS degree, I got a great job, bought a house when I was 23, and took a bunch of "fun" classes after work (foreign language, art, volleyball, etc). I met a bunch of nice people in those classes, so I have lots of all kinds of friends (not just engineer friends). What do I do? I used to write code every day, then I started to design the hardware and software, and now I do what's called computer system architecture, via computer simulation and analysis. Go for it. You'll make lots of money, have a sense of accomplishment, and you'll have satisfaction that you're developing stuff with your own 2 hands and brain. Does that help?
