What is the concept of criminal intent?

How do you feel about shows that are successful and keep adding new series to the basic concept (like CSI became CSI: Miami and CSI: NY and Law and Order became, SVU and Criminal Intent and the short lived one with Jerry Orbach)?

  • Answer:

I hate those shows. All of them. I have hated them since they came out, and I really don't understand how anyone could watch them in the first place. Of course, they keep adding, because they know they are only getting more successful by adding these changes in location and environment to stimulate the viewer's interest in the show. What I don't get is how the real shows like The First 48 aren't anywhere near as popular, yet it is the actual process and even so, they aren't watering it down for you like they do with those other shows. "John, get the luminol, which chemically will react with bodiy fluids under blacklight that we normally would not see." I know a great deal of what goes on already with that, and as the shows progress into different places, it gets worse. "Miami is a key tourist spot, he could dump the body and get away from us forever." The more that come out, the worse television gets. :(

I think all those shows suck! seriously, if you've seen one episode, you've seen them all because they don't vary much

I used to like CSI, then they went too far, I got board with it. Don't watch it anymore.

I think adding all the new series that are basically the same just overdoes it. I wish they'd just put that energy into making the original even better.
