How to get warm and stay warm in cold weather?

I am a fearful flyer and I haven't flown in thirty years. I am flying to Acapulco Thursday. Is it safe to fly so close to Dean? How will we get from Houston without hitting bad weather? How bad will the weather be? Should I stay home? Help!

  • Answer:

I worked for a major airline for 31 years..you will be safe. The whole weather forecasting industry was created for the benefit of airlines. There are thousands upon thousands of flights every day with no incidents...Don't stay at home...go. The pilots have maps of where the weather is bad...they can see miles ahead and they get pireps (pilot reports) from other aircraft in the area. Enjoy your trip.

Flying is, statistically the safest form of travel today! You will be fine I am sure of it!

Watch the flight attendants; they fly hundreds of hours a year. When you hit some turbulence or are just feeling a bit frightened, just look at them. If they start to panic, then you can start to panic. Until then, just sit back, relax, and enjoy your flight.

Mexico is a bad country to vacation in right now. The drug cartel is having gang wars with the army and police. 16 people were just killed in Acapulco in a drug-related incident. Sorry, but i would change my destination to somewhere else, where your safety is much more secure.
