My 10 yr old female golden retriever's rear knee is swollen. The muscle feels hard, no breaks or fracture on X-ray. No sign of infection in drawn fluid. No exercise for 3 wks w/ last wk on prednisone. Some improvement. Vet says biopsy? Any other options?
