If I do CCNA or MCSE can I get a good job?

I'm about to get my MCSE and my CCNA in a couple of months and i want to know where do i start to get the experiance i need to get a good job? i have no work experiance in the field so who will ever hire me to get that experiance?

  • Answer:

Don't get me started.... It's truly a double-edged sword. Sometimes, having 'any' computer experience can mask the lack of MCSE or CCNA experience when applying for a job. Sometimes the certification is called for even when they know they might consider hiring someone without that certification. If you really want to get experience without applying for a formal job, I'd recommend volunteering to do IT support work on the side for a local non-profit agency (who likely can't afford anything anyway), or offer your services as a cheap, part-time IT person for a small company that cannot afford their own full time person, but also doesn't like the B.S. they go through every time they call Joe's PC Repair and have to explain their situation each and every time. I've had students who took my advice and made a successful little business out of it. Just some ideas.
