How Joomla Is Used For Matrimonial?

I'd like to upgrade my sites from joomla 1.0.13 to 1.5. How can I be sure that all extensions used (components, plugin and modules) will work a treat also on 1.5?

  • Answer:

Nothing is sure in life - i believe the rule applies also to joomla ;) only way to really know is to try - you have a staging / test sight, correct? If not, you should create one as a playground to answer these type of questions. Most hosting companies have subdomain support, so create a new subdomain for the test site, then load 1.13 & attempt an migration. review http://help.joomla.org/content/view/1933/294/ to see what insight the joomla dev team has... What about other people accessing the test site? Use .htaccess to limit the view to only those you want to. To find out how, see http://www.askapache.com/htaccess/htaccess-for-webmasters.html What to do about the modules / components that don't work? 1) check for updates from the provider - you can't be the only one wanting this, right? 2) attempt to fix the existing one - http://help.joomla.org/component/option,com_easyfaq/task,view/id,243/Itemid,268/ 3) wait & monitor relevant forums - if the module / component is popular, some one will figure it out. Get involved in the conversation, perhaps your insight will help! Good luck!
