I have a few questions on these job positions.

When it's your turn to ask the interviewer your questions, will it be wise to ask, "How many positions are available for this job right now?" if the answer was not already stated in the ad & job description?

    Thats not a bad question, because they may have already filled some or some new positions may have opened. but dont let that be you only question. Also ask things that you are actually conserned about like how are the people you work with, is this a team enviroment, but remember to stay away from questions about the pay until you are already hired.
