Answer:
No! kids should learn that the world does not revolve around them. Some kids want what they want when they want it. I say to bad. You could use that money in a more productive way. Food, clothing, house payments etc. You can't let them run over you. If they don't learn at a young age then when they get out in the real world, they are going to be in for a shock of their life. They will probably bitch and whine. To bad. Don't give into them. You need to take control! Good Luck

How old are your children? Today is the day your children learn to handle disappointment. This is a very important lesson which will be very useful in helping them to come to terms with the rest of their life. There is always a chance that they'll have to learn the 'disappointment' lesson another day. That would be because today is the day that they learn how to go out in the big wide world, earn their own money, and learn how to save up and buy the things that they love. This is a very important lesson and the younger they learn it, the brighter the outlook for their future. If the love of 'Halo' isn't enough motivation for them to earn money then either they don't love it that much or their future doesn't look bright or both. To be fair, it isn't easy going out into the big, nasty world. Working for money can be a stupid idea, some jobs won't buy you what you want etc. That is why they will need expert guidance in coming to terms with the world of work. This guidance will not be provided by schools or the government or anybody else. In fact, most 'other people' are interested in turning your children into slaves, not providing for them. Your children need YOU, not as a Father Christmas figure but as a 'guide to the world of work' figure. There are many ways to earn money besides working: selling, song writing, author, real estate, shares. The good thing about starting in your parent's home is that you don't starve to death when things get hard. Take some time out to think about these things. It is very important. I am sorry that I cannot give you a better answer. I hope that you do not be Father Christmas this time. Good luck and best wishes.

See my other answer. "Every son is like an arrow in his father's bow." How did we stuff up? How did we come to the "Every child needs his father to sell the bow string so he can buy an XBox 360", if you get my drift? How can we change this from a "Children making me poorer" to a "Children becoming richer and I learn a few lessons along the way too" scenario? Your children have more free time than you. While you are busy working, who knows what they could learn, if only we knew how to point them in the right direction. Take some time out to think about this. Again, I'm sorry I don't just have a solution. I hope you find some inspiration. And see my other answer.

First of all, it's more than likely that the new Halo game will be ported to the PC like the two before it, so they probably will have a chance to play Halo 3 at some point in the future. Well, this is a question for you. Are you willing to buy them both consoles, as if they want Xbox360 for Halo, surely they'll want another system for some other game they have their eye on. You merely have to explain to them they're going to get one system only, so they need to think long and hard about what they're getting. (If you want a touch of the old grouch in me, if they start to complain, just tell to get comfortable with the old PS2 then :P) If they want the other system, they should earn the money and buy it themselves. See if they want to spend 500 dollars to play Halo 3 after that :)

The 360 is worth it in my opinion. It has great graphics, great games, and the online play is bar-none. I wouldn't buy it simply for Halo though, as this game bores the heck out of me.

Wrong question to ask ME, at present! My Xbox 360 just went out after 4 months! It is the 1st game system that I did not purchase an extended warranty for, and now I have to pay the price. I will be calling them today to see if they will fix it. While the new "Halo" may end up being the best game of all time, it's not worth getting a whole system, basically, for 1 game. I say, go with the Playstation 3, (and DO NOT forget the extended warranty)!
