To those of you who didn't attend college, what were your reasons?

My family and I could not afford to pay for college. So I joined the Army for four years (not so much fun) with the expectation of having college paid for afterward. Didn't work out so well for me. Got out of the Army and started working. Been working since then. Honestly, not having gone to college has not been an issue in the working world. I've had one boss that after hiring me asked me where I went to college, and when I told him that I had not been to college he seemed suprised for a moment, then said that my position needed a college degree. Ironically, I've been asked (and have done it) to teach college classes as a side thing for fun.
