What is an ethernet cable? im trying to get x box live but i am using some sort of cable connecting my laptop and xbox and everything seems to check out except it says the network adapter is disconnected...whats all this mean?

if you ever played a system link game on xbox the cable you use for that is an ethernet cable. you also want to plug the xbox right into the modem not through a computer.
