Why won't the disc eject from my build in DVD player on my Toshiba LCD tv?

Answer:
Some DVDs are thicker than others - enough to feel the difference. I have 2 DVDs that would not eject. Fortunately some genius at Fixya found that pushing a playing card folded in half into the slot during the eject would pop the DVD out far enough for me to grab it. I was able to do it without folding the playing card. Other DVDs work fine.

My problem isnt DVD thickness. Mom's kitchen Polaoroid TV (I think is a Toshiba) and it stays stuck in READING mode and won't eject. Now I got mom transferring VHS to DVD and after a sudden recent viewing of 100 DVDs (versus previous usage) the damn Toshiba Regza also does the exact same thing. Fix.Ya seems to think you can lock and unlock the DVD in the Menu button (I suppose for educational rooms having control over employee DVD abuse in educational rooms or cafeterias).
