The role of play during childhood?

Did any of your childhood friend's parents play an important role in your life as you were growing up?

  • Answer:

The parents of my best friend when I was growing up were my Godparents, so they played a huge role in my life, maybe moreso then my parents, since my parents divorced.

My best friends mom was a 3rd shift nurse at a local hospital. And during the summer when I was over at his house hanging out. We would sit around and drink coffee with his mom before she went to work. That is probably where I acquired my compulsion for the beverage.

Yeah. My friend Claire's parents were so cool. They let us all stay over there on saturday nights, for 'innocent' girlie sleepovers. We used to go out from their house, and they'd happily lie to our parents about us being in all night. It wasnt that they didnt care, just that they understood that at 15 or 16, it was normal to want to go out with our friends, and mess about. They would rather know we were going out and what we were doing than have us lie. Sadly, my Mum didnt feel the same, and never wanted me to go out. Hence the lies....
