LCD or a plasma screen?

Which is better plasma or lcd considering plasma has burn-in and lcd has a cloud or blurred screen.

  • Answer:

i would suggest getting a decent LCD because plasmas are almost guaranteed to have a few problems within the few months and the burning in effect is really annoying.

I had this same question last year and finally ended up up a 42" LCD. I love it and feel it was a better choice than the 50" Plasma. Paid more for a smaller TV but it was worth it.

I think the advice is that under 40" you should get LCD over 40" Plasma Nothing to do with resolution, it is more to do with even backlighting, it gets tricky on big LCDs I got a Samsung 32" LCD and was expecting the motion blur thing that is talked about, but I can honestly say it does not exist. I use it for my Xbox360 my PC and as a tv and DVD player and would recommend it to anyone. I have never noticed any blurring on it even in fast moving images. Plasma gives better low light images and does not suffer so bad with image vanishing it bright or sun lit rooms, but there is really not much in it now. You should also look at the newer LED technology if you really want to have state of the art, I think it solves all the problems of both the other technologies or you could even stay old school and get an HD CRT, which many would argue has the best picture of them all, though it is more bulky. Too many choices ;-)

Actually, we have a rear-projection TV and while it takes up a bit more room, it works beautifully and doesn't have issues like burn-in, etc.
