How does dirt become dirt? :-)

Answer:
When natural forces break organic and non-organic sources down to a mixture we know as dirt. Such natural sources are wind, weather, climate etc...some reasons for breakdown of organic material are decay and digestion by organisms such as bacteria and earthworms. If you would like to see this happen with your own eyes set up a worm bin. In it you can watch worms break down organic waste into compost which is a major component of dirt or what you might call soil.
