How do you properly clean a paintball gun?

I know you need to clean your paintball gun everytime it is used, but how often do you need to really dismantle it and clean every interior bit? Also, do you need to clean it even if no paintballs were chopped?

  you should dismantle it every time, as for cleaning if no paint ball is shot out of the barrel.. then there would be no reason to clean the gun..
