Can I convert mpeg-4 files to mp3 without re-importing from CD? I'm trying to get songs to play from my ipod to my son's mp3 player.

If you got the files from iTunes or some other source that uses DRM copy protection, the only good way to do it is to burn a CD and re-rip the CD into MP3's.
