I have a 1996 Chevrolet Cheyenne 1500 pick-up truck I am trying to locate the cam sensor on the engine can you please help me locate the cam sensor tell me where to locate it at please in need of your help

Answer:
The cam position sensor is located under the distributor cap and rotor. (If you have the v6 like I have) You do not have to take out the distributor, like many books may say. Just rotate the distributor until the notch in the plate, which holds the rotor, is over the cam position switch. Loosten the screws, careful not to drop it!, and slide it out. Remember to mark the wires before taking them off the cap and be careful when unscrewing the cap not to drop the screws.
